the world. We have an excellent opportunity for a Transportation Logistics Manager.
This is the perfect position for an individual who wants to assume a key role and
significantly contribute to the company.
Primary Purpose:
Manage all transportation logistics for Twin City Fan Companies, Ltd.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide supervision to freight clerk, and some policy direction to the traffic coordinators
at each location. Make 6-12 plant visits per year as needed.
- Partner with Sales in obtaining estimated freight quotes for large jobs being bid.
Support Customer Service reps on claim issues and processes.
- Manage relationships between headquarters, plants, carriers, vendors, customers,
and Third Party Logistics Company.
- Manage freight carriers to address and resolve discrepancies on freight bills, and
negotiate Excessive charges on freight bills with our carriers. These are done on
individual freight bills, on our tariffs (with corrective action and measures implemented
on those tariffs), and with our carrier contacts. Move our carriers from tariffs
to negotiated contracts.
- Respond to issues raised by our customers and vendors, and follow-up with the carriers
when there are problems with freight damage, shortages, incorrect charges, and emergencies.
Investigate problems and issues and resolve the problems for our customers.
- Keep up-to-date on industry trends and watch for updates on all freight issues.
- Create and maintain the correspondence to validate our claims with carriers and
renegotiate with the carriers when there are denied freight claims.
- Design or modify the traffic procedures and create time-saving options for the freight
department and interact with other departments to create time-saving set ups.
- Work with MIS to improve our current procedures and create time-saving options for
the freight department and interact with other departments to create time-saving
set ups.
- Prepare and recommend budgets, monitor spending and recommend variances as necessary.
- Oversee freight software insuring compliance between plants, carriers, and Third
Party Logistics Company.
- All other duties as apparent or as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Traffic/Logistics Management, Transportation or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years experience in managing transportation and freight-related areas
on a domestic and international level.
- 2 plus years management experience.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and negotiation skills are a
must.
- Have a working knowledge of transportation regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively and positively with
a variety of personalities in a variety of situations to build productive relationships.
- Well organized, disciplined, and must posses high work standards. Must be able to
juggle multiple projects of rapidly changing demands.
